We are excited to announce The Vision Co. is now officially at the Green Tree Retail Center located at 19859 Katy Freeway! Although our optometry office has been here for the last 20 years (previously Pearle Vision), we are re-branding and are now a proud member of Vision Trends.

As a doctor of optometry at The Vision Co., Dr. Nguyen focuses on providing patients in the Katy area the highest standard of eye care with a thorough and personalized experience.

Dr. Nguyen’s passion for optometry began when she was an undergraduate at the University of Houston. While completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Nguyen worked as an optometric optician and was also accepted into the University of Houston College of Optometry’s TEXOCOP program, which was a 6-week simulation of their optometry curriculum. This only confirmed Dr. Nguyen’s desire to pursue optometry school and she then continued to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from UHCO. During the last year of her doctorate program, Dr. Nguyen completed her clinical rotations at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas and a large private practice in Houston. She had the opportunity to serve an indigent population at both rotations, providing primary eye care, pre- and post-op care in refractive and cataract surgery, and also management and treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, cooking, traveling, gardening, and balancing a healthy lifestyle.
Deanna Gates, OD

Optometric Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Deanna Gates, a native Houstonian, attended Texas A&M before receiving both her Bachelor and Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston. Because of her love for travel, she chose to complete her externship training at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana.

As a therapeutic optometrist and licensed glaucoma specialist, Dr. Gates is trained to diagnose and treat many diseases and conditions of the eye. Her primary focus is always clear communication with each patient and providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, watching sports, and baking for friends and family.
